Why feed medicated grit?
- Quartz grit in the gizzard aids the digestion of heather shoots, which makes up approx. 80% of the fibrous diet of a grouse
- Medicated grit targets a parasitic threadworm that lives in the gut of red grouse, Trichostrongylus tenuis. A disease more commonly known as Strongylosis or Strongyle worm
- Owens Nutrition medicated grit contains Flubendazole which targets all stages of the worm’s life cycle
- Medicated grit reduces worm burdens in grouse, improves body condition and increases chick survival rates, thus increasing grouse productivity
